CommonPlaces Welcomes Two New Members to Their Web Development Team

October 14, 2009 -- CommonPlaces is excited to welcome Jake Strawn and Eric London to their team of Web professionals. Both individuals have extensive experience with Web development and particularly the Drupal content management system. CommonPlaces believes that they will augment the current team well, and allow CommonPlaces to deliver even better Web solutions to their clients.

Drupal is an incredibly popular and powerful Web content management system. It is rapidly growing in popularity because it is open source, robust, easy to use, and reviewed and modified by the growing and active Drupal community. Drupal facilitates online publishing and social interaction—both critical to online success today. That is why it has been chosen by NASA, Popular Science, Warner Bros., and many other companies and organizations.

Jake Strawn comes to us with over three years of Drupal experience, and even more background in PHP/MySQL. He is an avid themer, and has contributed themes such as the Omega theme to the Drupal community, as well as modules such as Save & Edit. He shares a desire with the rest of the CommonPlaces team to give back to the Drupal community in this fashion. Jake also maintains a blog at himerus.com, where he regularly discusses Drupal issues and offers advice. He has also presented on the topic of grid-based theming at numerous conferences including DrupalCon Paris and Drupal BootCamp Montreal.

Eric London also has a wealth of experience with Drupal, which he draws from for his blog, theDrupalBlog.com. He brings nine years of LAMP experience with him, and has played an instrumental role in the development of sites such as GreenBuildingAdvisor.com, Chroma.com, TheSCA.org, and SimpleTuition.com.

CommonPlaces e-Solutions is an open source development firm that among other things builds custom Drupal modules and themes. More specifically, they leverage Drupal for social networking, e-commerce, subscription-based publishing and permissions-based content management sites.
