Staples engaged CommonPlaces to design and build a custom shopping cart application for internal use. The site was used by the Staples sales team to order and deliver marketing materials and gifts to 53 different field offices. The website was integrated with the central warehouse, providing real time inventory and backorder management. CommonPlaces developed a multiple-shipping address capability that made it possible for sales managers to send materials to multiple employees in different locations. CommonPlaces also created a global address book, accessible to over 100 sales individuals, along with customizable address books for each sales manager. Staples found this cart to be a clean and simple way to manage internal procurement of sales materials.
