CommonPlaces Announces its Candidacy for two Webby Awards

CommonPlaces e-Solutions, an award-winning provider of Web development, online marketing, and business strategy services is currently being considered for the 2011 Webby Awards

Hampstead, NH, February 2, 2011 - CommonPlaces e-Solutions, LLC, an open source Web Application and Drupal development firm has been nominated for two Webby Awards. The company's latest project, WhatsWhat.me (Beta), is being considered in both the youth and best practices categories for websites.

WhatsWhat.me (Beta) is a safe, secure, 'kids-only' social network for 'tweens' ages 7-13 that is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). WhatsWhat.me (Beta) uses patent-pending facial recognition technology, moderation and kid-friendly features to teach kids positive online behavior, Internet safety and related life skills.

CommonPlaces President and CEO, Ben Bassi stated that, 'CommonPlaces is extremely proud of the work we've done on WhatsWhat.me (Beta). It's only fitting that the project is considered for a Webby Award. WhatsWhat.me (Beta) is such a strong contender and we're secure in its potential to take home the award for both categories.'

Vincent F. Cannistraro, CEO and Founder of WhatsWhat.me (Beta) noted, 'We are excited about the two Webby Awards nominations. CommonPlaces is an excellent partner. Their professionalism and expertise helped us realize our goal of creating WhatsWhat.me (Beta) -- a 'kids-only' site that is dynamic, safe and fun for kids, while providing peace of mind for their parents.'

Established in 1996, the Webby Awards honor excellence on the Internet, and being held in that regard is nothing new to CommonPlaces. In its recent history, the company has received an Interactive Media Award in addition to a Web Marketing Associate Award for Outstanding Achievement, and has been named one of the Top 10 Web Development Firms in the US by Forbes Magazine, Bassi notes, 'A Webby Award would be a wonderful addition to our current list of accolades.'
