It’s not often that Michael Reich, CommonPlaces COO, takes time off, but when he does…it’s time to bust out in a 'wrap'. The eve before Christmas Eve, the CommonPlaces team had their plates piled high with endless amounts of Chinese food and the anticipation of the holiday was settling in.That was when, one of the CP team members (who will remain undisclosed to refrain from retribution) thought it would be a great idea to give Mike a special present upon his return after the holidays. So what happens when you take time off during the holidays? A gift wrapped office of course!
The team came together and got to work. We wrapped everything from furniture, to phones, to laptop cords, to photos, to hot sauce and even a trash can full of Dunkin’ Donuts cups. We paid close attention to detail and wrapped up a tissue box so he could still use the tissues, and we covered his door to look like a giant present just for him! It not only was fun, but it actually was a great team building exercise to say the least. Check out some of the photos here.
Unfortunately, we do not have any of Mike’s reactions on film to the chaos he walked into bright and early Monday morning. After he had a chance to ‘unwrap’ his office (he left the tissue box) and look back, he said, "We have a good time at CP and have a pretty good sense of humor, so if you take things too seriously, you're not going to be a fit. This was one of the best yet! I was having fun rediscovering some of the items in my office!"
So who is next? We heard that our fearless leader, Ben Bassi, might be taking some time off at the beginning of the year. Are there any office pranks you've pulled off in the past? We'd love to hear them!
